Dr. BAOZANDRY Justine has been a Malagasy South-South medical missionary working at Lutheran Health Care in Bangladesh (LHCB)in the town of Dumki Palunkhali for nearly the past four years. She recently returned to Madagascar (December 2007 – January 2008) for her home leave, along with her ten year old daughter, NOMENJANAHARY Fahasoavana Jolie Justine who goes by the name of Jolie, meaning pretty or nice.

Dr. Baozandry is mainly responsible for taking care of the female patients. It is very important for a female doctor to take care of the health of the women in this Muslim city, especially in regards to maternity cases. Thus, Dr. Baozandry is kept busy with delivering babies, performing Caesarean sections when necessary, doing ultrasounds on pregnant women, attending to the antenatal clinic and outpatient clinic.

Please remember Dr. Baozandry and Jolie in prayer during their sojourn back to Bangladesh, especially in regards to her daughter’s education. In January 2007, Jolie was being educated at a Catholic boarding school in the capital city of Dhaka called “Don Bosco International School & College Vitara Dhaka”. There has apparently been a big misunderstanding concerning the financial arrangement for Jolie’s education with LHCB covering the expenses, to date. Dr. Baozandry is praying that a different educational solution will be found for her daughter so that it won’t be necessary for Jolie to return to that catholic school where problems had been encountered.

Dr. Baozandry reports that she has a good working relationship with the Christian administrator, Mr. BIJOY, but has encountered difficulties with some of the other employees, both non-Christian and professed Christians. Through it all, she counts it all JOY to serve the Lord.
